Player ratings are always a major talking point around a new EA Sports FC release. This FC 27 player ratings guide focuses on the top 20, comparing their OVRs with FC 26 to see who has moved up, dropped down, or stayed put.
The rankings come from EAβs official FC 27 ratings database. Below, we break down the biggest upgrades and downgrades, compare the best-rated players by position, and highlight the numbers worth knowing before building a squad.
FC 27 Top 20: The Highest-Rated Players
The official FC 27 player ratings leave very little between the highest-rated players in FC 27. Kylian MbappΓ©, Alexia Putellas, and Erling Haaland lead the list at 91 OVR. Just below them, 11 players have a 90 rating, so much of the top 20 is separated by only a single overall point.

The top of the FC 27 ratings table looks familiar, but there are some meaningful changes behind the leading names. MbappΓ© remains on 91 OVR and is still the fastest player in the game with 96 pace, while Haaland moves from 90 to 91, backed by 92 shooting and 89 physical. Putellas also keeps her 91 OVR, combining 91 passing with 92 dribbling.
The bigger differences appear just below the top three. Eleven players are rated 90 OVR, which makes individual attributes more useful than overall rating alone when comparing cards. Kane, for example, leads the group with 94 shooting, while Olise combines 89 passing with 91 dribbling. Rodri offers a much more defensive profile with 85 defending, and players such as Pedri and Vitinha reach 90 OVR through strong passing and dribbling rather than pace or physicality.
The lower end of the top 20 also shows how quickly the order can change from one release to the next. Nuno Mendes, Claudia Pina, and Lionel Messi all gain three overall points, while Kvaratskhelia and Bruno Fernandes move up by two. That makes the top 20 more than a list of the highest OVRs, since some of the most notable changes come from players who were outside this group in FC 26.
Biggest Upgrades and Downgrades in FC 27

- Yui Hasegawa (+3 OVR, from 85 in FC 26 to 88 in FC 27) β Hasegawa moves up three points overall. Her new card comes with 86 passing, 88 dribbling, and 81 defending.
- Claudia Pina (+3 OVR, from 86 in FC 26 to 89 in FC 27) β Pina jumps three points, boasting 89 shooting and 88 dribbling.
- Vitinha (+1 OVR, from 89 in FC 26 to 90 in FC 27) β Vitinha reaches 90 OVR this year. His strongest numbers include 88 passing and 91 dribbling.

Gabriel leads all players for defending with a 91 rating. His card is 89 OVR, with 84 physical alongside that defensive stat. Willian Pacho is rated 89 OVR and has 90 defending and 86 physical, while William Saliba sits at 88 OVR with 90 defending. Nuno Mendes offers elite pace at left-back with 94 pace and 89 OVR. Trent Alexander-Arnold offers a different type of option at right-back, combining 89 passing with 77 defending.
Midfielders
Alexia Putellas leads the midfielders at 91 OVR, with 91 passing and 92 dribbling. Several players sit just behind her on 90 OVR. What Stands Out from the FC 27 Player Ratings?
The top of the FC 27 ratings list has changed, but not by much. MbappΓ© and Putellas stay at 91 OVR, while Haaland moves up from 90 to 91. Olise stands out with a four-point jump from 86 to 90 OVR. Vitinha, Pedri, and Yamal each move up by one point and now sit at 90.
